" The Doors" (Light My Fire)

" The Doors " ( Light My Fire)

"Light My Fire" is a song by the American band The Doors, from their debut album, recorded in September 1966, and released in January 1967. It reached number one on the Billboard's pop Singles in 1967, and was then re-released in 1968, reaching number 87. The song was written by Robby Krieger (music/lyrics), although usually the credits are given to "The Doors". Keyboardist Ray Manzarek added intro. The song represents a couple "coming high" (getting high), which can understand is as an allusion to the passion sexual but is also a term Street for the feeling euphoric of the people when is drug; which motivated that TV presenter Ed Sullivan asked the group to modify the letter if they wanted to sing it in your program. Initially the band agreed, but the time Jim Morrison he ignored and sang the original lyrics." "Light My Fire" is a good example of psychedelic rock, and marks the basic principles of what will be the jazz rock of the 1970s, but always built in the blues. Good examples of this are the long and, apparently, improvised solos (by this the song was shortened from seven to three minutes for its radio version). Its harmonic progression and sticky rhythm (particularly the introduction of Ray Manzarek) did it to sell quickly in pop markets.
