Pink Floyd "One Of These Days"
"One of These Days" (one of these days) is the first song of Meddle, the sixth studio album by Pink Floyd's progressive rock group. This topic presents the change in the band's style, aside from psychedelic rock to go into progressive rock. It begins with the sounds of wind, followed by two serious low touched by Roger Waters and David Gilmour. A measure advancing joins a very distorted guitar, and when he arrives at the half, will be heard Nick Mason said One of these days, i'm going to cut you into little pieces (one day, I'll cut into small pieces). The final part shows a variety of bass, guitar, keyboard and drums. The phrase was dedicated to a BBC Radio 2 DJ called Jimmy Young. It was composed by all members of the band. Few seconds before the sentence pronounced by the drummer of the band can be heard background melody of the shade of the British series Doctor Who, approximately in the minute 3:10. According to David Gilmour, this was one of the songs that most collaborated together the band members. It was included in the concerts Live at Pompeii, Delicate Sound of Thunder, A Passage of Time (1994) and P•U•L•S•E (interpreted by Guy Pratt in the last three).
