Led Zeppelin "Inmigrant Song"

Led Zeppelin "Inmigrant Song"

"Immigrant Song" is the first song from the third album of the band Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin III, released in 1970.La song is dedicated to Leif Ericson. It is sung from the perspective of Vikings rowing West from Scandinavia in search of new lands. Its regular rhythm evokes the determination of explorers and their oars striking the water, and the letter makes explicit reference to Viking conquests and the old Norse religion (To fight the horde, and sing and cry / Valhalla, I am coming). The line "The hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands" prompted many to begin referring to the music of Led Zeppelin as the "hammer of the gods" (the Hammer of the Gods). "The phrase was used as the title of the famous biography of the band by Stephen Davis, Hammer of the Gods: The Led Zeppelin Saga." Immigrant Song"was used to open concerts by Led Zeppelin from 1970 to 1972. Versions of this song live are the albums Led Zeppelin How The West Was Won and the Led Zeppelin BBC Sessions. Live, Page plays a just not included in the recorded version.
